While the state budget package ultimately gained the Governor’s approval on Monday, lawmakers are now considering an override of the Governor’s veto of Senate Bill 593: Schools for the Deaf and Blind.
Over 150 attendees from across the state came together for the Convening of Superintendents and Community College Presidents on Friday, March 5, to share best practices and future concerns for the students of North Carolina.
Each year North Carolina needs 250-300 highly trained school leaders who are ready to serve as principals, far more than the current supply. The shortage of principal-ready candidates hits highest needs schools especially hard where turnover is the highest and conditions are the most challenging.
